Job Description


Position General Summary


  • Responsible for driving manpower development initiatives across employee engagement, training, and recruitment functions. The role ensures effective delivery of training programmes, compliance with HRD Corp requirements, and successful execution of onboarding and engagement activities. Collaborates with Department Heads to identify development needs, strengthen talent capability, and support recruitment strategies that contribute to overall organizational effectiveness and growth.    

  

Essential Position Functions


  • Plan, develop, and implement learning and development programmes by identifying training needs, designing effective methods (classroom, on-the-job, coaching, workshops), and evaluating programme effectiveness to ensure continuous employee growth and performance improvement.   
  • Coordinate and manage HRD Corp-related matters including training grant applications, claims, budget utilization, and compliance to ensure full benefit and alignment with company training plans.
  • Develop and review training materials, manuals, and evaluation tools to support both technical and behavioural training needs, while ensuring relevance to operational requirements.
  • Organize and conduct orientation and onboarding programmes to ensure smooth assimilation of new hires, familiarization with company culture, and understanding of roles and expectations.
  • Plan and implement employee engagement and communication initiatives to foster teamwork, motivation, and retention, and provide feedback to management for continuous improvement of the employee experience.
  • Oversee and execute recruitment and selection processes, from manpower planning, sourcing, interviewing, and placement including coordination of internship and collaboration with educational institutions for talent pipeline development.
  • Provide guidance and support to supervisors in staff coaching, training techniques, and engagement strategies to promote consistent people development practices.
  • Prepare and monitor the department’s annual training and development budget and submit periodic reports on programme effectiveness, cost efficiency, and HRD Corp utilization.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by superior in line with organizational needs.     

 

Key Challenges


  • To coordinate and ensure sufficient manpower in order to meet targets for each outlet are within the approved optimum level or approved budget.
  • To engage with Head of Division/Managers to monitor and reduce the attrition rate especially G9/G10 employees.
  • Keeping overheads & peripheral costs down.
  • Ensuring the continuous improvement of services standards.


Skills


  • Good organizational and administration skills.
  • Committed and possess leadership qualities
  • Possess good inter personal skill with pleasant and outgoing personality.
  • Sound knowledge in Malaysian Labor Law, Industrial Relation and Employment Act.
  • Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadline and multi task.
  • Mature, resourceful, diplomatic, discreet, meticulous and independent.
  • Excellent writing skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English language.


Relevant Industries

 

  • Degree holder with minimum CGPA 3.0 with minimum 7 years relevant experience in Management Executive role
  • Experience in retail or related industry is an added advantage


Education


Degree in any related field. Degree in Human Resource is an added advantage.
