Job Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership and Management:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive indirect procurement strategy for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, aligning with global corporate objectives across Airbus and its divisions
  • Lead, recruit and manage a team of regional procurement professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, and professional development. The direct team is currently 7 full time employees (FTE) and the regional community is 15+ FTEs.
  • Ensure the cultural bridge between 10+ Asian countries and decisions with headquarters in Europe
  • Establish individual objectives and regular follow-up with the team. Ensure development and training as a group and individuals to maximize their performance and potential
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for indirect procurement in the APAC region, representing the function in regional leadership meetings
  • Resolve conflicts and act as escalation point for General Procurement issues in the region and in link with Central procurement, including where operational ambiguities exist


Sourcing and Vendor Management:


  • Oversee all strategic sourcing activities for indirect spend categories, including but not limited to professional services, IT, marketing, travel, facilities management, and corporate services.
  • Conduct in-depth spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and manage a significant regional procurement budget
  • Lead complex contract negotiations with key suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Optimize bundling opportunities to leverage the buying power of the Airbus group in the region by driving local for local sourcing and contributing to local for global initiatives
  • Implement and manage a robust Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) program to foster strong, long-term partnerships with strategic vendors, ensuring performance, innovation, and risk mitigation


Compliance and Risk Management:


  • Ensure all regional procurement activities are compliant with corporate policies, legal regulations, and ethical standards
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with the supply chain and vendor agreements
  • Develop and implement governance frameworks and policies to control the company spend and ensure a high level of compliance across the organization
  • Oversee the General Procurement process. Actively participates in audits and acts in accordance with findings, as necessary. Manage the deviation process.


Stakeholder Collaboration:


  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key internal stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Finance, IT, HR, Marketing) to understand business needs and drive alignment on procurement strategies
  • Proactively manage the relationship with internal business partners to ensure target level of satisfaction for the Region/Divisions. The activities include analysis of satisfaction survey results as well as development and implementation of identified improvement measures
  • Act as a trusted business partner, influencing decision-making to optimize value and cost-efficiency
  • Communicate procurement initiatives, progress, and results effectively to all levels of the organization
  • Strongly support the development of the regional procurement community with proactive communication and integration mindset in the Regional Procurement Office beyond silo
  • Drives innovation and digitalization in General Procurement


Job Requirements


  • A Bachelor's or Masters’ Degree in Business Administration, Management, Procurement, Supply Chain Management or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the procurement field including buyer and category management experiences in general/ indirect procurement scope , preferably in the aviation industry.
  • At least 5-10 years supervisory or leadership experience in the procurement field.
  • Strong ability to communicate and convince

  • Contract drafting and negotiation skills (advanced)
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills - Fluency in English both written and verbal is required.
  • Experience with SAP, Click n Buy, Google suite applications, Microsoft Office applications
