Play a key part in maximising the performance of Air New Zealand's International network. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders across our business, you will be a key influencer in supporting the ongoing commercial success of the business.

As a Pricing Specialist you will provide insights, recommendations and implement pricing strategies focused on achieving commercial objectives.


In this position, you will be accountable for:

  • Developing and enhancing pricing strategies to respond to competitive and market changes
  • Ensuring pricing strategies implemented across the international network link into business strategy
  • Working with business stakeholders to ensure that Air New Zealand anticipates and meets market growth demands
  • Working closely with our offshore commercial teams to ensure that Air New Zealand's product is competitive and aligned to key commercial objectives
  • Collaborating with our Alliance partners in forming pricing strategies on our joint venture markets
  • Assisting with negotiations with interline partners relating to Special Prorate Agreements (SPAs)


What you will ideally bring to the role: 

  • An understanding of airline pricing and fares
  • You are a big picture thinker who understands the key drivers that impact our highly competitive environment
  • Strong communication skills, ability to present commercial performance and discuss levers to improve performance with internal stakeholders
  • The ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and the confidence to provide advice to senior stakeholders across the business
  • The ability to work in an ever-changing environment and deal with ambiguity
  • Curiosity, strong intuition, and a self-starter who loves to learn
  • Ability to make judgments, decisions and calculated risks with limited supervision
  • Tertiary qualification preferred in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Economics. With minimum 2 years relevant experience in pricing, commercial analysis or similar analytical role
  • Expertise in MS Excel, combined with commercial analysis and data storytelling skills will be essential to provide insights into commercial decisions and projects
