Route Planning:


  • Assessing new markets based on strategic fit, financial performance and growth potential
  • Recommending new routes and bases to add to the network
  • Developing financial forecasts for potential new routes and bases
  • Building and maintaining financial evaluation tools as required
  • Working with the Revenue Management team and Airport Development team to determine amendments to existing routes, frequencies and airports
  • Assessing competition in terms of strategic plans, capacity changes, strengths / weaknesses and recommending actions based on the risks and opportunities
  • Assessing and interpreting market, economic and industry trends and the impact on route choice
  • Managing the airport mix to ensure it does not exceed budgeted costs
  • Managing regulatory affairs of the network. Securing seasonal route permits and new route designations.
  • Building relationships with airports and third parties (regions, tourism bodies, Civil Aviation Authorities etc.)
  • Maximize profitability by optimizing capacity and weekly frequencies, ensuring the right product is offered to the market
  • Managing capacity on a portfolio of routes comprising several countries and bases
  • Deliver monthly capacity plan updates to management


Scheduling:


  • Work cross functionally with Revenue Management and Trading teams to enhance each schedule’s revenue potential, and asses the feasibility of network or capacity changes.
  • Liaise with Ground Operations, Flight Operations, Operations Control, Maintenance and Crew Planning teams to ensure the feasibility of the schedules and minimise the cost of the operation.
  • Load and manage flight capacity into the operational and reservation systems, collaborating with Customer Experience team in the management of schedule changes.
  • Secure airport slots for each season schedule.
  • Manage the current slot historic rights and secure new ones, protecting WIZZ future positions in congested airports.
  • Provide analysis on airport capacity and strategies to maximise growth opportunities in congested airports.

 

Requirements:


  • University degree in business, economics, engineering, sciences or other analytical field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (Network, strategy, Scheduling, etc.) and working with and interpreting data and analytics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel/PowerPoint. Additional technical skills a plus: PowerBI, SQL, etc.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Fluent spoken / written English
  • Team player, able to work in cross-functional projects efficiently
  • Ability to work under pressure and comfortable with uncertain and rapidly changing business environment
  • Proactive, willing to take initiative and shoulder responsibility
  • Passionate for optimisation and data. You can draw data driven conclusions through analysis and modelling
  • Ability to live and work in Luton, United Kingdom
  • Limited travel required (approximately 10% of working time)
