What you’ll be doing

• The objective of the Financial Accountant role is to provide timely and accurate financial results and analysis to support the business in growing the Velocity programs.
• This role will include a focus on delivering monthly financial reporting and reconciliations whilst supporting the overall Group Finance objective of ensuring strong financial governance and controls.
• In addition, the role will support the Group Reporting team with the statutory reporting obligations of the Group.

Further responsibilities: 

• Processing required journal entries
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Provide financial analysis and commentary to support management review of results
• Ad hoc analysis/queries as required from Group Reporting or the Velocity business
• Work with the Velocity team to understand accounting requirements of the program
• Developing new processes which support the overall Group Finance objective of ensuring strong financial governance and controls
• Assist in the preparation of notes and financial statements for the VAH Group and Velocity statutory accounts
• Engage with external auditors to facilitate audit requirements where required
• Proactively engage with the Group Reporting team to ensure deliverables are met on time

You’ll be great in this role if you have

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• At least 2 years' technical accounting experience
• Extremely high attention to detail and the ability to prioritise high volumes of tasks
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to wider Finance teams
• Knowledge of the basic accounting principals
• Ability to complex a 6 month, maximum-term contract with us
