Position: Technical Support & Sales Engineer

Position Start: Immediately

Reports: Regional Sales Manager North & South Asia


Responsibilities & Main Functions:


  • Manage commercial activities such as Sales, Contracts, Quotations, Forecasting, etc. with customers in the region and within the global network


  • Identify key sales risks & opportunities, develop and execute sales strategies to achieve or exceed a set level of sales for a targeted customer base


  • Produce key customer proposals, presentations, etc., as well as supporting internal documents such as white papers for Long Term Agreements etc.


  • Forecast customers’ material requirements and report key sales metrics to management on a monthly basis


  • In conjunction with technical support & marketing, position the company to capture new business on offset, subcontract and indigenous sales opportunities and ensure long term profitable growth


  • Assume responsibility for the management of any long term agreements/contractual negotiations, such as commercial, technical, legal issues, and others


  • Provide detailed technical feedback regarding material performance and processes, and participate in developing sales, marketing & product strategies to position the company favorably


  • Make use of global technical resources and in conjunction with Regional Managers, manage any customer specific quality issues, qualifications, customer specific specification negotiations and new product developments


  • With the objective of securing new purchase orders, and in conjunction with the customer service team, follow up on key customer quotations and provide in depth feedback


  • Identify key personnel in customer base, and work with line management to effectively target key decision makers


  • Attend exhibitions, sales & technical forums, seminars, etc. as needed


Requirements:


  • Educated to Degree level or above in an Engineering or Materials Science discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of technical sales experience, ideally within the composites industry, and a strong awareness of the aerospace industry and its key markets and technologies


  • It is preferred, but not essential, that the jobholder has experience in a range of composite materials and the manner in which they are processed


  • It is essential for the candidate to have a strong business acumen of the aerospace and industrial composites business


  • The jobholder should be educated and competent with the following software packages: Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with different people and cultures


  • Analytical approach to tasks


  • A genuine enthusiasm for the composites industry and a determination to succeed


  • Proactive, responsible, and willing to go the extra mile to complete assigned tasks


  • Able to promote strong teamwork and creativity with a consistent emphasis on finding more efficient and effective ways of working


  • Candidates need to be proficient in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Added ability in Thai and/or Vietnamese language is an advantage


  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customers’ sites to discuss commercial and technical issues and to build relationships


  • Willing to work and participate as a strong and key team player in a remote office and small team environment
