About the role: 

Air New Zealand is continuing to transform its Cargo's business into a competitive, efficient, modern day Cargo business – and the Regional Cargo Manager New Zealand is core to achieving these objectives.

You will be tasked with leading the team through a significant transformation period as well as focussing on the regional strategy. This will be achieved through a clear focus on the customer, culture, commercial outcomes, operational complexities, quality and regulatory standards that are required to create a world class Cargo business.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Create and drive sales strategies that are focused on growth and aligned with our customers’ needs.
  • People Leadership: Lead, empower, and inspire the New Zealand Sales team. Champion a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and high performance where everyone feels valued.
  • Guiding Change: Navigate the team through transformation with empathy and resilience, ensuring they feel supported and motivated to adapt and succeed.
  • Ownership of New Zealand Cargo Sales function: Oversee full P&L responsibility, ensuring operations are efficient, effective, and aligned with our goals.
  • Building Connections: Forge and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, internal teams, and suppliers, always with a view to strengthening community ties and supporting local businesses.
  • Market Insight and Innovation: Leverage insights and trends to shape innovative strategies that keep us responsive to customer needs and ahead of the curve.
