Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the wider NCC and Ops Support teams to support initiatives involving new and existing applications, ensuring alignment with operational needs and technological advancements.
  • Coordinate with IT teams and vendors to implement and drive changes that enhance operational systems, including aircraft communication technologies and flight-related applications.
  • Identify and drive opportunities for greater efficiency within NCC and Ops Support’s systems and processes, leveraging innovation to streamline operations.
  • Collaborate with department heads to manage vendor relationships and ensure service delivery meets operational and aircraft communication system requirements.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to departmental projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Oversee the management of Operations’ iPad inventory, including the supporting apps, equipment, and SIM cards, ensuring they align with the organization’s needs.
  • Work closely with teams across Operations, including Training and Standards, to proactively plan and purchase necessary devices in line with business requirements.
  • Regularly review and update documented processes that support the iPad and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) program, ensuring they reflect current best practices.
  • Own and maintain the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) related to iPad outages and aircraft communication system disruptions, ensuring minimal operational downtime.
  • Ensure all iOS updates are compatible with installed apps and address any compatibility issues promptly.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring iPads are configured correctly and fully operational before being released to users, ensuring a smooth user experience.
  • Oversee and optimize aircraft communication systems, ensuring reliable, cost-effective connectivity and performance across all flight operations.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new communication technologies to improve aircraft connectivity and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and innovations in aircraft communications systems. 


Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in any of the relevant fields, such as: Aviation Management or Engineering, Information Technology and Operations Management.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation operations, with a focus on EFB or aircraft communication systems and operational technologies.
  • Proven experience in implementing and optimizing operational technologies and communication systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor relationships and ensuring service-level agreements are met.
  • Must have a strong understanding of operational systems and applications in aviation, including aircraft communication technologies and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) programs.
  • Knowledge in Systems Automation, Internet of Things (IoT) and Cybersecurity is an advantage.
  • A Master’s Degree in a related field is a plus, especially if it includes a focus on technology management, aviation, operations, or process improvement.
  • Preferably completed a Project Management Training/Course, IT related or Aviation-Specific Certifications.
  • Has technical knowledge of Aviation Systems and Technology, Aircraft Communications Systems and/or Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) Management.
