Scope of Position:
To manage and control all operations & maintenance activities of Hangar Operation Department.
Key Responsibilities
- To ensure all aircraft are appropriately maintained in accordance with approved maintenance data, manufacturers’ manuals/specifications, airworthiness requirements, Company, customer and relevant NAA requirements.
- To ensure Hangar Operation team to perform maintenance work according to approved maintenance data,relevant manufacturer’s manuals and specifications.
- To ensure the final aircraft meet the customer requirements of product quality and TAT.
- To institute and maintain a suitable organizational and administrative structure in the department.
- To ensure that adequate provision, the efficient utilization and the proper maintenance of aircraft maintenance tools, equipment and facilities.
- To ensure daily utilization of available resources is at a maximum and that overtime is strictly Controlled.
- To ensure the competence of all staff that are in possession of the correct skills, are given adequate training and are up-to-date on the latest methods, procedures and requirements.
- To ensure all maintenance personnel observe airworthiness, quality, environment, health and safety precautions and regulations relevant to their operations.
- To ensure quality control, compliance with Part 145 and that any non-conformances raised are dealt with in a timely manner.
- To undertake investigation of any customers’ complaint or any other reports and take corrective actions.
- To monitor and responding to quality audits and any findings which directly affect the maintenance facilities.
- To ensure that correct procedures are implemented for the security and safety of aircraft under SAE care or control.
- To ensure effective and efficient corrective and preventive actions in the event of any non- conformance and non-compliance matters.
- To ensure disciplinary action among maintenance personnel with regards to violation of airworthiness, quality, environmental, health, safety, and security regulations and requirements.
- To ensure all maintenance work performed are correctly and appropriately documented with zero discrepancy of paperwork in check packages.
- To induce a positive attitude and response in maintenance personnel on the need to observe
- industrial safety regulations, procedures and practices for the protection of their own and as well as the company’s interests.
- To implement safety culture in Hangar.
- To inculcate the values of discipline, honesty, gratefulness, sincerity and trustworthy together with teamwork spirit to the maintenance personnel for their own benefit and in line with the company’s objective and direction.
- To manage aircraft maintenance activities in a cost-effective manner and within established budget.
- To ensure hangar facilities and offices are kept clean and tidy at all times and that day to day housekeeping is kept to a high standard.
- To ensure necessary arrangements to measure productive output against non-productive and other man- hour losses such that inefficiencies are captured and reviewed.
- To maintain discipline within their area of responsibility and in liaison with the Head of Operation make recommendations for increase / decrease of resources as required.
- To provide aircraft check performance/KPI report after completion of aircraft maintenance.
- To ensure certifying staff are conversant with aircraft type and system to liaise with the Training Department over trade training if deemed necessary.
- To monitor performance of Technician/Engineers in consultation with TL/ TC in so much that future difficulties and problem areas can be recognized and corrective action taken.
- To approve and control staff leave such that the throughput of work and aircraft licensed coverage is maintained.
- To assist superiors as directed.
- To review the SOP and SMS manuals every six months to ensure compliance to regulations that effect safety.
- To ensure that Safety Performance Indicators are kept and reviewed on a regular basis with emphasis on targets, alert levels and recording methods. Data to be uploaded and is available for viewing on HOP SMS folder on SAE server.
- To review all completed MOC/HIRA completed actions for effectiveness and to implement the corrective action as required. This review needs to be carried out every 6 months.
- To initiate MOC/HIRA whenever operation conditions or changes to operation conditions require it.
- Upkeep and live Airbus Values, Leadership Model and Code of Conduct to be exemplary to others and to promote and increase the awareness of Airbus Values, Leadership Models and Code of Conduct.
- Carry out any other task as directed by the superior.
Background and skills
- Degree in Aviation Industry or equivalent
- Experience at fixed wing MRO with 5 years in management positions.
Other qualifications, training, experience, knowledge, skills, certifications, legal or professional body
authorization:
- Valid Part 66 AMEL.
- Familiarity with AMOS.
- Ability to manage resources to meet project timelines.
- Clear understanding of regulations that govern MRO operations.
- Team player, able to work successfully as part of a team. Self-motivated with good interpersonal skills, leadership and autonomy.
- Excellent presentation. Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and relation with customers.
- Competent in the use of IT tools and Office applications, MS Office.
