Accountabilities


  • Provide leadership to the Maintenance Planning department to ensure that all commitments to Service Providers, staff and regulatory authorities are efficiently delivered.
  • Develop and operate the Maintenance Planning department and associated procedures so as to ensure a consistent approach is adopted to meet the requirements of the national airworthiness regulations and agreed KPI dashboard.
  • Establish efficient and effective internal procedures including interface to support the department objectives as well as provide assistance to other departments.
  • Deliver annual budgets for maintenance costs
  • Periodically review work force performance using Etihad Appraisal systems and make necessary action to help and develop improved performance.
  • Interface with internal and external departments on all matters relating to Maintenance Planning. Interface with network scheduling departments on all matters related to creation of maintenance slots
  • Represent Etihad Planning department at meetings and be responsible for any actions and follow up.
  • Responsible for the life cycle of each Maintenance Project, including pre-input and Wash-up meetings of all planned maintenance events, A check and higher
  • Ensure that Quality Lapses are investigated and remedied in accordance with company procedures. Monitor Technical Records paperwork and processes through audit processes to comply with CAMO regulations
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned to him by the Head/ Senior manager of Maintenance Planning.


Education & Experience


  • Hold a technical academic degree/ HND in aeronautical engineering or hold an ICAO type I or type II license
  • A minimum of seven years operational experience in a Maintenance Planning environment.
  • Demonstrated management skills, background and experience at Management/ Supervisory level
  • Proven MRO or Aviation-related operational experience.
  • Demonstrated, up to date knowledge of applicable airworthiness and Health and Safety legislation.
  • Proven innovation and drive to lead and implement ongoing continuous improvement.
  • Proven track record of success in delivering results.
  • Excellent all-round Planning and Operational and Crisis management skills
  • Excellent Time management skill
  • Proven ability to create and develop a framework and mechanisms for the delivery of behavioural and attitudinal change and performance enhancements.
  • Proven experience of effectively managing a team with the ability to motivate to meet deliverables in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to expedite tasks in a firm and diplomatic manner, being able to exercise appropriate discretion/manage commercially sensitive data
