Description


The Logistics Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the shipment and delivery of materials, parts, and supplies to ensure timely availability for aircraft maintenance, repair, and operational needs. This role plays a critical part in supporting smooth airline operations by optimizing logistics performance and ensuring regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Plan and coordinate the shipment of materials, parts, and supplies based on urgency, cost, and destination.
  • Select appropriate transportation carriers (air freight, ground transport, etc.) aligned with time, nature of shipment, and budget.
  • Prepare accurate shipping documents including invoices, bills of lading, customs forms, and certificates of origin.
  • Track shipments and maintain accurate records including delivery confirmations and incident reports.
  • Arrange bookings with freight forwarders, transport companies, or airlines to secure space for outgoing shipments.
  • Monitor in-transit shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delays or issues proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with international and domestic customs regulations, trade laws, and hazardous materials handling standards.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to prevent delays or damages.
  • Maintain communication with internal teams, vendors, and logistics partners regarding shipment status.
  • Optimize shipping costs without compromising delivery efficiency.


Requirements:


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, preferably in the aviation sector involving aircraft materials and spare parts.
  • Strong understanding of transportation methods and logistics workflows.
  • In-depth knowledge of international and domestic shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade laws.
  • Familiarity with packaging, labeling, and handling hazardous materials.
  • Solid understanding of key logistics documents such as invoices, bills of lading, and customs forms.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong time management and communication abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
