LEGAL COUNSEL

You are expected to response for managing and overseeing the Company’s day‑to‑day legal, compliance, and governance matters by providing independent, pragmatic, and business‑oriented legal advice; supporting effective corporate governance and regulatory compliance; mitigating legal and compliance risks; and advising the Board, Strategy and Governance Committee, and management to enable informed decision‑making in support of the Company’s strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Strategy and Governance Committee in fostering a strong governance and integrity culture by providing independent and objective legal advice on directors’ duties, ethical standards, and applicable regulatory obligations
  • Support corporate governance matters and board and committee paper preparation
  • Act as internal legal consultant in advising on matters of the Company concerning legal, regulatory and internal policy compliance, as well as other aspects of corporate governance
  • Monitor and review the organization’s compliance with relevant laws, regulations and internal policies
  • Triage and manage compliance incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Manage pre-litigation disputes, liaise with external counsel, oversee settlement strategies and documentation
  • Prepare and review legal and incidental documentation, and maintain contract templates and legal and compliance policies
  • Coordinate with Procurement Team and review the commercial contracts or agreements terms and conditions, and maintain documentation and database
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Governance, Business or related field or above
  • Minimum 5 years in inhouse legal and compliance management role. Prior experience in Aviation industry is an advantage
  • Experience in handling Chinese Mainland, Japan, or other Asian countries legal matters is strongly preferred
  • Strong legal judgment and pragmatic risk assessment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluent in Putonghua is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural skills
