We are seeking an experienced Lead Quality Control Engineer to oversee the Quality Surveillance and Technical Records functions within a fast-paced aviation MRO environment. This role is responsible for strengthening quality systems, leading investigations, managing customer quality escapes, and driving corrective and preventive actions to support overall SQDC priorities (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in ensuring operational compliance, supporting engine inductions and deliveries, and continuously improving quality processes through structured problem-solving and Lean practices.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage the Quality Surveillance and Technical Records teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Provide technical guidance and quality leadership to team members and key stakeholders.
- Support competency assessments for personnel to qualify as Certifying Staff / Approval Holders / Approved Mechanics.
Quality Assurance & Investigations
- Lead investigations related to customer escapes, supplier issues, process non-compliance, and operational defects.
- Coordinate containment actions, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and CAPA implementation with cross-functional teams.
- Ensure timely closure of investigation reports and action plans, keeping all stakeholders updated.
Surveillance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Perform scheduled and ad-hoc surveillance of operational processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify system gaps, risks, and weaknesses, and recommend improvement initiatives to management.
- Initiate and coordinate PFMEA activities, ensuring mitigation actions are implemented effectively.
- Develop and improve internal procedures using LEAN methodologies.
Supplier & Subcontractor Management
- Conduct supplier and subcontractor audits and monitor vendor performance issues.
- Provide structured feedback and recommendations to management to improve supplier quality performance.
Training & Quality Programs
- Support the Quality Manager in implementing Quality Awareness programs and predictive quality initiatives.
- Conduct quality briefings, training sessions, and flow-down communications as required.
Regulatory & Documentation Support
- Review Airworthiness Directives (ADs), support AD Review Board activities, and maintain AD checklists for Certifying Staff.
- Conduct technical inquiries in accordance with established procedures and aviation regulatory standards.

Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role within an aviation MRO environment.
- Strong understanding of aviation regulations and quality systems.
- Prior leadership or managerial experience is an advantage.
