About the Role

Are you ready to be the guardian of operational safety for a transformative new airline?

You will lead and support the development and execution of Riyadh Air's Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring full compliance with ICAO, EASA, GACA, and other regulatory frameworks. This is not just a compliance role – you'll be championing a proactive safety culture by overseeing hazard identification, risk mitigation, and driving continuous safety performance improvement across all operational areas.

In this role, you will own the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our SMS, ensuring alignment with international standards and regulatory requirements. You'll oversee hazard identification, reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis, enhancing risk awareness and enabling effective mitigation across the organization. When safety is at stake, you'll have the authority to suspend any operation that presents an unacceptable risk - a responsibility that underscores the critical nature of this position.

You can expect to deliver safety briefings, training sessions, and awareness campaigns that cultivate a proactive safety mindset throughout the organization. You'll coordinate the development and tracking of Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs), plan and execute internal safety audits and inspections, and request corrective actions from any department to address safety gaps. Your role extends to managing safety documentation including the Safety Policy and Safety Manual, ensuring everything remains current and accessible.

You'll also serve as the voice of safety to senior leadership, preparing and presenting periodic safety performance and risk assessment reports that enable informed strategic decisions. You'll maintain full access to operational areas, documents, and personnel to verify compliance and investigate safety concerns, ensuring Riyadh Air operates at the highest safety standards from day one.

This is a leadership role where your expertise, judgment, and commitment to safety will protect personnel, assets, and Riyadh Air's regulatory standing while building a world-class safety culture.

About You

You will hold a Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Safety Management, or a related field, with completion of Aircraft Accident Investigation and Human Factors Training. With a minimum of 9+ years of experience in aviation safety, quality, or operational oversight, you bring proven expertise in implementing and managing SMS in a regulated aviation environment.

You are expected to demonstrate deep knowledge of SMS design and implementation in compliance with ICAO, EASA, and GACA standards. Your proficiency in conducting hazard identification, risk analysis, and implementing mitigation strategies enables you to reduce exposure to operational risks effectively. You excel at planning and executing safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring accountability through thorough root cause analysis.
