The IT Specialist plays a key role in the IT model, responsible for the day-to-day management of the Workplace Technology services provided to employees. This entails support across multiple platforms, functions and service partners.  

This role reports directly into the Service Delivery Lead and will work with internal and external teams to continually optimise the service delivered by understanding through data issues, problems and opportunities for delivering a service that exceeds our employee experience.

The focus of this IT Specialist role is Group Executive Support, responsible for the end-to-end delivery, management and coordination of providing support to Qantas Group Leadership and Executive Leadership Teams. The IT Special provides support for Qantas Group main premises in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and remote support for all other locations and may be dispatched to provide onsite support as necessary.


What you will be doing

  • An IT Specialist is based in Sydney to provide an exceptional level of technical and customer focused to Qantas Group Leadership and Executive Leadership Team members.
  • An IT Specialist will resolve incidents and fulfill service requests for Qantas Group Leadership


  • Team members:
  • in any of Qantas Group Site using EUC provided devices
  • in any of Qantas Group Site using BYOD devices
  • whilst working remotely using the remote access services
  • relating to any EUC Software
  • in their home office: remote and/or desk side support
  • interstate and international locations whilst on Qantas Group business trip – remote and, where practicable, desk side support


  • An IT Specialist will resolve incidents and fulfill service requests for Qantas Group Executive Leadership Team members:
  • in Qantas Group offices; including remote and desk side support
  • in Qantas Group home offices through remote support
  • interstate and international locations whilst on Qantas Group business trip – remote and, where practicable, desk side support.


What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology
  • Experience in Administration and updating of IT systems e.g. Active Directory, Microsoft System Centre Configuration
  • Manager, Azure, Office 365 Administration
  • 2 - 5 year's experience in large corporate & IT environment
  • Good Team work and collaboration skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
  • Solid problem-solving ability with an emerging ability to cut-through complexity, and an ability to think creatively at a tactical level with a keen attention to detail.
