The aviation sector doesn’t stand still. Challenged to adapt and change, we’ve responded by reinventing our customer experience, broadening our business and achieving what was thought impossible. This allows us to stand strong as the Qantas Group.

As the Head of Network & Planning Scheduling, you will lead the end-to-end planning, development and optimisation of the Qantas network across Domestic, International and Regional operations, including Network Aviation. This critical leadership role is responsible for translating commercial strategy into a deliverable schedule, balancing customer demand, profitability, operational performance and network competitiveness. You'll oversee network planning, schedule development, schedule variations, charter activity and slot coordination, ensuring Qantas maintains a schedule that is both commercially attractive and operationally robust.

You'll play a key role in developing new route opportunities, managing Qantas' Australian and international slot portfolio, influencing fleet deployment decisions and identifying opportunities to improve network performance through better processes, technology and analytics. This role requires a highly commercial and strategic leader who can navigate complexity, influence senior stakeholders and translate analysis into decisions that drive profitable growth across the network.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 10+ years’ experience leading network planning, scheduling, commercial strategy or operational planning functions within aviation or other complex transport environments.
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated experience evaluating route performance, network opportunities, capacity allocation and business cases.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience working across senior operational, commercial and executive leadership teams.
  • Experience leading high-performing analytical teams and driving continuous improvement through data, technology and process optimisation
  • Strong strategic thinking, communication and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and highly regulated environment.
