Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree Roles Objective:
Own and drive the indirect Distribution strategy for the airline. Ensure revenue maximisation whilst cost of sale is monitored to optimise profit per channel. Continually use data and insights to drive informed decisions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain, in conjunction with CCO, the overall distribution strategy
- Maintain strong relationships within the Travel Agent community
- Manage all BSP and IATA related relationships
- Manage all GDS contracts to ensure optimal distribution penetration in all markets and ensure GDS contracts are under best practice commercial terms
- Assess and drive new distribution channels, including NDC, to enhance revenue growth
- Always ensure an eye is kept on revenue integrity and use best practice measures as necessary
- Own the OTA portfolio and optimize revenue from that channel
- Monitor and report on all sales performances by point of sale/location and distribution channel
- Report and monitor all costs of sales by distribution channel
- Evaluate and recommend any new offline distribution channel
- Work with IT stakeholders and play a key role in ongoing optimisation of the PSS
- Prepare, implement and manage written departmental processes and procedures (SOPs)
- Champion revenue maximisation and low-cost ethos and low-cost way of working
- Use RFPs to evaluate any new channel or vendor
Budget & Planning
- Manage own departmental cost budget
- Ensure achievement of relevant revenue targets and cost savings
- Work closely with the Commercial team and other stakeholders to achieve revenue targets and business goals
Management
- Manage staff and workload to ensure that team operates at maximum efficiency within deadlines
- Provide effective coaching and training
- Develop and motivate staff
- Any other responsibilities or adhoc projects assigned by the CEO, CCO or Board
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business studies or any related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of Airline Distribution experience with 4 years at a management level
Special Skills & Knowledge
- Strong leadership and consensus building skills, Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with all levels in the organization.
- Polished presentation and interpersonal skills, Possess top level business management, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
- Excellent communication skills in English, and Arabic an advantage
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with commercial acumen.
- An existing network within the Distribution community
