We believe our pilots are among the most skilled and talented in the world, but they have not reached this level by natural talent alone. At Air New Zealand, we invest heavily in-flight training and professional development. That is where you come in.

We are seeking experienced ATR Flight Simulator Instructors to join our Flight Simulator Training team in Auckland. In this pivotal role, you will help shape the next generation of pilots through high-quality simulator instruction, ensuring our flight crew continue to operate safely and confidently across our network.

As part of an innovative and forward-thinking training environment, you will work with state-of-the-art simulation technology and collaborate with some of the industry’s most experienced aviation professionals.

We also offer competitive remuneration, with the turboprop Simulator Instructor package recently aligned with Jet roles.

About the role

  • Deliver flight simulator and classroom instruction to ATR pilots, supporting initial, recurrent and upgrade training
  • Conduct flight checks, assessments and evaluations in line with NZCAA Part 121 standards
  • Contribute to training program development to ensure continuous improvement and compliance
  • Maintain training records and ensure accuracy in performance monitoring
  • Collaborate with operational and training teams to uphold Air New Zealand’s high standards of safety and performance
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to pilots, fostering a learning culture built on excellence and support
  •

What you’ll bring

  • Eligibility to live and work permanently in New Zealand at the time of applying (NZ Citizen, NZ Permanent Resident, or Australian Citizen)
  • NZCAA CPL or ATPL
  • Instructional experience
  • Minimum 3000 hours total flight time
  • Eligibility to hold an NZCAA D-Category Instructor Rating

If you meet these requirements and are passionate about developing others, we’d love to hear from you.
