Reporting to our Senior Fleet Engineering Manager, your new areas of focus will include::

  • Oversee and drive the successful execution of engineering programs related to new aircraft entry into service, aircraft disposal, lease returns, and major fleet configuration projects. This includes project management, technical analysis, configuration changes, and coordination with lessors, OEMs, regulatory authorities, and Group AOC stakeholders.
  • Maintain up-to-date oversight of the Group Fleet Plan and upcoming asset initiatives, ensuring accurate planning and timely execution of fleet transitions and deliveries.
  • Provide strategic guidance on fleet disposal and transition planning, ensuring alignment with business objectives, operational requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure optimal resource allocation, including internal teams and external contractors, to support the seamless execution of fleet programs.
  • Identify, engage, and manage third-party suppliers to support specialized fleet activities, ensuring efficient integration and delivery of complex engineering projects.
  • Lead comprehensive technical assessments of new and used aircraft candidates, ensuring specifications align with operational, regulatory, and commercial requirements.
  • Support senior management in the negotiation, planning, analysis, and execution of aircraft modifications and upgrades to enhance fleet performance and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the fulfillment of service level agreements with customer airlines, ensuring accurate cost recovery and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve procedures and project governance for aircraft transitions, ensuring best practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of experienced engineers and project managers, fostering a culture of high performance, technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

We’re searching for someone who has:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in aviation management required
  • Sound knowledge of wholistic engineering business functionality and processes
  • Experience with aircraft leasing and lease negotiations
  • Experience with new aircraft delivery
  • Sound understanding of asset lifecycle systems and principles
  • Experience in project or program leadership and process improvement desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills – capable of identifying needs and resolving issues
  • Understanding of aviation legislation
  • Experience with leading a high performing team in an operational environment required
  • Experience at a high-capacity passenger transport operator/s desirable
