The Role

As Financial Accountant – Flight Operations, you’ll report to the Finance Manager – Flight Operations and support all accounting activities for Fuel, Crew, and Disruption costs. You’ll deliver month-end activities and partner with Operations Finance and the wider business to ensure stakeholders have accurate and timely information.

You’ll play a key role in:

  • Supporting ownership of current costs (actuals) from a profit and loss and balance sheet perspective
  • Delivering internal and external financial reporting
  • Enhancing the financial control framework
  • Driving and monitoring cost-saving initiatives
  • Collaborating with Group Financial Reporting at key periods


Requirements of the Role

 

What we’re looking for

  • Qualified accountant with experience in variance analysis
  • Ability to communicate and challenge effectively at all levels
  • Proven experience interpreting accounting complexity across balance sheet, cash flow, and P&L
  • High attention to detail and ability to summarise complex information for non-financial stakeholders
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to continuous improvement
  • Excellent Excel skills (up to basic macros); Planning Analytics experience preferred
  • Strong team player who can build effective relationships across functions

Practicalities

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
