Key Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction, roadmap and sequencing for your area, within Jetstar’s engineering and architecture standards

• Own reliability, availability and performance, including incident response — triage, escalation, recovery and root cause resolution

• Own your area’s cost base — team cost, cloud, licence and vendor spend — and drive value for money over time

• Direct contracted and partner engineers alongside permanent staff, and hold partners to account for quality and productivity

• Drive adoption of AI-assisted and modern engineering practice

• Lead and develop your team, building the capability needed to meet performance expectations

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

• 8+ years in software engineering, including leading an engineering team

• End-to-end ownership of a production platform or service at scale

• Reliability and incident management for customer-facing systems

• Cyber remediation and secure-by-design engineering practice

• Managing cloud, licence and vendor cost for a platform

• Directing contracted or partner engineers alongside permanent staff

• Current hands-on credibility in modern and AI-assisted engineering practice
