Responsibilities


Advisory & Compliance: 


  • Provide expert advice on employment taxation, benefits-in-kind, expatriate taxation, and international mobility across all Wizz Air entities. 
  • Identify risks and compliance issues, propose mitigation measures, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions. 
  • Monitor legislative changes and proactively assess their impact on compensation, benefits, and reward programs. 


Governance & Risk Management: 


  • Ensure employment tax compliance across 15+ jurisdictions, minimizing exposure to audits, penalties, or reputational risks. 
  • Define standards and processes for employer tax compliance in partnership with Finance, Compensation and Payroll. 
  • Lead responses to tax audits and authority inquiries, working closely with local advisors. 


Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: 


  • Partner with the Finance Tax team (focused on corporate tax), Compensation and Payroll to align approaches and ensure consistency across the group. 
  • Act as the main point of contact for external tax advisors, ensuring efficiency in scope definition and cost control. 
  • Provide regular updates, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership on employment tax matters. 


Process Improvement: 


  • Drive standardization and harmonization of employment tax practices across countries. 
  • Support digitalization and automation initiatives in payroll and tax compliance reporting. 
  • Train and upskill HR, Payroll, and Compensation colleagues on tax-related issues. 


Experience


  • 3-5+ years of professional experience in taxation, preferably in a multinational environment. 
  • 2+ years experience in personal income tax, social security, and international mobility. 
  • Track record of advising HR/Compensation/Payroll on tax compliance. 
  • Exposure to managing multiple jurisdictions. 


Hard skills


  • Strong knowledge of employment-related taxation, payroll taxes, and benefits-in-kind. 
  • Familiarity with cross-border tax implications and double taxation agreements. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • MS Office proficiency, especially Excel and PowerPoint. 


Education


  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Tax, or related field (required). 
  • Tax certification or advanced qualification (advantageous).

 

Language


  • Fluent verbal and written proficiency in English.
