As an Account Manager, you will:


  • Manage and grow a portfolio of key freight forwarders, shippers and commercial partners across NY & NJ.
  • CRM/Salesforce management and analysis of market data to identify new business opportunities
  • Conduct regular customer visits, with a minimum expectation of five in-person meetings per week.
  • Travel regionally (approx. 15–20% annually) to support markets including Chicago, Boston and Washington.
  • Develop tailored customer plans to retain business, win new opportunities and drive profitable revenue.
  • Use commercial insights, FAB data and performance trends to shape proposals and engage collaboratively with Revenue Management.
  • Identify dormant or low-volume accounts and re-establish strong Virgin Atlantic presence.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships through consistent communication, problem solving and service excellence.
  • Partner closely with JFK Cargo Operations and internal teams to resolve issues, share insights and support service performance.
  • Represent Virgin Atlantic Cargo with professionalism, positivity and a hospitality-focused approach when delivering both good and challenging news.


About you


You will have:


  • A strong sales mindset and proven experience in a commercial, customer-facing role.
  • Background in airline cargo, freight forwarding or logistics would be a great to have
  • Experience in travel, hospitality or other customer-centric sectors is also welcome.
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving commercial environment.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to influence, engage and build trust quickly.
  • A self-starter mentality with the drive to be out on the road and proactively develop new opportunities.
  • Strong communication and commercial insight, using data to guide decisions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams including Operations, Revenue Management, Capacity and Sales Leadership.
  • The right to live and work in the US, with the ability to travel across regions to meet customers.
