Responsibilities


1) Revenue/ tonnage performance 


  • Monitor forwarders’ performance and gather market intelligence on competitor activities/ key accounts to facilitate the formulation of appropriate sales strategies.
  • Engage forwarders regularly to strengthen business relationship and willing to meet customers’ occasional requests outside office hours.
  • Action on Cargo Space Management (CSM) requests for adhoc support on weak flights by contacting forwarders for more supports.
  • Monitor and review forwarders allocation utilization with Sales Managers.
  • Gather market intelligent from the forwarders on the cargo situation and demand locally.


2) Account management function


  • Primary contact for a number of key forwarders and take responsibility for their performance.
  • Respond to SQ appointed forwarders and SIN based GSAs requests for quotation (RFQ) for adhoc shipments via SFM/email/calls.
  • Liaise with SIN reservation to secure space for shipments. Escalate to Sales Manager and NPM team to secure space for shipments.
  • Consolidate forwarder’s allocation requests and request allocation from the respective Supervisors regions in charge and Sales Managers.
  • Inform forwarders for space allocation revisions or changes as and when required.


3) Operational matters and other duties


  • Work closely with operational department to check on loadability of shipment and space requirements before requesting for space to CSM.
  • Liaise with destination stations to check on technical requirements. Eg: security arrangement at destination, onward trucking at destination, flatbed truck and crane availability, MDL weight limit, clearance time at destination etc.
  • Liaise with internal departments to check on pricing matters. Eg; Cost of onward trucking, cost of interline arrangement, early lodge in charges, cool room charges.
  • Coordinate and work closely with various departments to secure additional capacity, plan trucking arrangements and charters.
  • Update Sales Force Mobility on the adhoc booking and shipments’ status.
  • Work with Sales Support team to prepare contracts.
  • Work with accounts to investigate and verify post flight billing disputes.
  • Assist forwarders on IT system matters such as FHL/FWB messaging procedures.

 

Requirements



  • Diploma holder in Logistic, Marketing, Business or Sales-related courses
  • Experience in air cargo industry, with Sales & Accounts servicing experience. 
  • Preferably with driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Knowledge of local air cargo operations
  • System knowledge and IT skills (eg: MS words, excel, SFM, and etc)
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good negotiation and analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Ability to persuade
