What you’ll be doing

This is a critical opportunity to join Virgin Australia’s Engineering function as an Aircraft Records Archivist, where your expertise will help protect the airworthiness and regulatory integrity of our growing fleet. In this role, you’ll analyse, verify, and maintain aircraft maintenance records in line with CASA, FAA and EASA requirements, supporting aircraft inductions, heavy maintenance, audits and lease activities. Working in a collaborative, safety‑focused environment, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our records are accurate, compliant and readily accessible as Virgin Australia continues its next phase of transformation and growth.

  • Analysing and verifying aircraft maintenance and airworthiness records to ensure authenticity and regulatory compliance (CASA, FAA, EASA and other applicable authorities)
  • Maintaining accurate electronic and physical records for all maintenance work performed across the Virgin Australia fleet
  • Filing and retrieving authorised release certificates, maintenance documentation, utilisation records, and ancillary documents
  • Managing heavy maintenance work packs, identifying gaps, and liaising with external MROs to resolve discrepancies
  • Preparing, archiving, recalling, and managing aircraft records for audits, airworthiness reviews, lease returns, and end‑of‑lease activities
  • Supporting aircraft inductions by loading aircraft and component data into TRAX and completing post‑load audits
  • Making documentation available to approved internal stakeholders, lessors, and regulatory authorities via electronic repositories and sharing platforms
  • Actively participating in safety, security, WHS, and business resilience programs, and complying with all operating procedures
  • Ad hoc processing of maintenance documentation

You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • Completed Year 12 (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in an aircraft engineering records department or a high‑volume technical records environment
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse, verify, and validate technical documentation
  • Advanced computer and data analysis skills
  • A solid understanding of aircraft maintenance records regulations and standards
  • Experience using eMRO/Trax or similar aircraft maintenance management systems (desirable)
  • Knowledge of airline engineering functions, including line and heavy maintenance, planning, and inspections (desirable)
  • Familiarity with electronic and cloud‑based document repositories and data‑sharing platforms
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to escalate issues and maintain regulatory integrity
