Cathay Pacific Airways has a long history in Malaysia, operating its first flight from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur on 11 August 1957. In 1977, the airline established a foothold in Penang, and has continued to support Malaysians by offering seamless worldwide connectivity through its’ Hong Kong hub. Over in East Malaysia, sister airline Dragonair started operating from Kota Kinabalu in 1985, and continues to strengthen its connections to various international destinations via the Cathay Pacific Group international network.
